Presented by Matt Johnson
As many of you have already heard, AAR Circular OT-5 will be modified to remove sections pertaining to Loading Authority, and a new AAR Circular OT-57 will be published to address the new Loading Authority process and requirements. As a result, the current OT-5 system will be retired by Railinc and replaced with a new OT-57 platform. AllTranstek is an active member of the TAG as well as the systems development team that is driving these changes, which are a cooperative initiative between NAFCA (North America Freight Car Association) and the AAR (Association of American Railroads).
This presentation will include:
An overview of why this change is happening.
An explanation of the benefits and improvements of the new system.
Screens and workflow of the new OT-57 system (note that OT-57 is still in development).
A walk through of what each company will have to do to prepare for the change and when.
The currently proposed timeline for implementation.
