Visual Testing (VT) – Weld Inspection has been performed for countless years in the rail industry. Visual Examination is the oldest and most commonly used Nondestructive Testing Method but it may also be the least understood. Typically, the VT requirements in the rail industry has been focused on Weld Inspection. There are many visual testing techniques involving a wide range of differences in requirements depending on the component and industry. Weld Inspection is only one technique to the overall Visual Testing requirements.
In this webinar, we discuss:
- The different VT and RVI techniques.
- How do the VT techniques apply to Tank Cars.
- VT certifications and the NDT Written Practice.
- Various VT Standards (e.g. ASNT, ASME, ISO, etc.).
- VT Course Outlines (other than Weld Inspection).
- Function Specific training encompassing VT.
